Summer Online Courses & More

Did you know ...
Summer online courses are a great way to pick up a class that you didn't get to take when it was recently offered at your extension center.
Deadline for registering for THIS summer's online classes is Friday, June 1 at 4 p.m.
First day of class for summer online classes is Monday, June 4.
Summer online classes are 8-weeks in length, wrapping up around July 28.
Another great summer option for grad students are the courses offered in the Mentoring format. These Blackboard-assisted courses work well for those of you in ministry positions or who are actively involved in your church. For more on the Mentoring program and how to apply to participate, check this out.

Are you going to the Southern Baptist Convention in Dallas this summer? If you still need to take Supervised Ministry 1, many students take advantage of the Crossover class offered the week before the convention. Registration closed for this course on Friday, May 4; however, contact the registrar's office to see if you can register.

Check out the summer options for graduate online and mentoring courses at this link. Undergrad course offerings are found here.

Summer is almost here!  Johnson Ferry Baptist Church will be offering School of Ministry and Mission Residency program this Summer.  They will be conducting interviews in May.  It is 24 hours a week of ministry/missions work and 4 hours of class time each week.  They are given the extra time to read and do assignment work, but also to take additional classes or work if they need. Please click here for information a about this program: JFBC School of Ministry and Missions

The Redemption Task Force could provide resources to the NOBTS community to combat the effects of sex addiction, which sadly is widespread in our culture. Secrecy forms an atmosphere in which addiction takes root and grows. We want to create a different atmosphere in our community, where men and women can find support, nurturing, and encouragement toward freedom and victory in their lives.

Toward that end, we are offering two resources; First, Conquer Groups are gender-specific small groups that meet at Leeke Magee Christian Counseling Center. The next sessions begin during the first week of June, and we want to invite our students to take advantage of the help they can find in these support groups; Second, we have scheduled a Pure Desire Conference for this fall on September 22-23. We hope to begin promoting this event before the end of the semester. This conference is essential not only to the strugglers but also to those who minister to them. Pure Desire Ministries is a nationally recognized organization with experience and resources both to help and to train.

We are attaching a set of PPT slides for your detailed information.  There are two designs for the Conquer Groups & two color schemes for the Pure Desire Conference.

We hope that our seminary family will recognize the seriousness of the epidemic of sex addiction in our culture and, by extension, in our own community. Please pray that God’s light will shine upon NOBTS so that many caught in the snares of addiction can BREAK THROUGH/BREAK FREE.
